After arriving on the New York City jazz scene from his hometown of Philadelphia, Stanley Clarke single handedly created the 1970s bass revolution with the release of his eponymous album, Stanley Clarke, featuring the hit single, Lopsy Lu. He became the first bassist to perform as a headliner, and was honored by the creation of a signature model Stanley Clarke bass by Alembic instruments. His numerous film and television scores include Boyz n the Hood and Romeo Must Die.
